Thomas Trier Hansen har omfattende erfaring fra Danmarks Domstole, herunder som udnævnt dommer ved Retten i Grønland, og som konstitueret dommer ved Østre Landsret i København, Danmark.

Han er specialiseret inden for virksomheders samfundsansvar, og navnlig spørgsmål om menneskerettigheder, arbejdstagerrettigheder og korruption, hvor han rådgiver små, mellemstore og store virksomheder og ofte i tæt samarbejde med Deloitte. Han har gennem sine mange år i Grønland opnået en unik viden om grønlandske retsforhold, hvilket også har resulteret i flere artikler om blandt andet grønlandsk råstoflovgivning. Herudover har han stor erfaring indenfor arbejdsret, udbudsret, forvaltningsret, udlændingeret og menneskerettigheder. Han har stor erfaring med gennemgang arbejdstagerforhold i leverandørkæden og har gennemført en række kontroller af arbejdsklausuler for offentlige og private virksomheder, kommuner og regioner. Han er ofte brugt som international konsulent med erfaring fra arbejde i flere end 40 lande fordelt på stort set alle verdensdele. Han er regelmæssigt brugt af EU som ekspert i menneskerettigheder ved vurdering af EU-ansøgerlande, ligesom han underviser i spørgsmål om menneskerettigheder.

Thomas Trier Hansen har tidligere været medlem af både nationale og internationale bestyrelser, samt været formand for Kommunernes Tilsynsråd i Grønland og Klagenævnet for Udbud i Grønland.

Han har endvidere stor erfaring med program- og projektledelse, herunder strategiske planlægningsprocesser, samt evaluering af programmer og projekter, ligesom han har gennemgået kurser for bestyrelsesmedlemmer.

Professional Competences and Experience

Thomas Trier Hansen has extensive experience from the Danish Judiciary. He was appointed as judge to the Court of Greenland and was the Head of the court from 2009 to 2011. He served as a temporary judge of the Eastern High Court of Denmark from 2008 to 2009. He has also been working for a number of years for the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

Thomas Trier Hansen is specialized in corporate social responsibility, in particular human rights, labor rights and corruption issues, and is advising companies on compliance and due diligence often  in close corporation with Deloitte, Denmark. He has vast experience with assessment of labor rights compliance in supply chains and has conducted such assessments for privat and public companies as well as municipalities. Thomas Trier Hansen has also extensive experience with Greenlandic legal issues and has published several articles on Greenlandic law, including mineral law.

Thomas Trier Hansen has furthermore a vast experience within the field of labour law, procurement law, administrative law, immigration law and human rights law. He is an experienced international human rights consultant from working in more than 40 countries worldwide and he is regularly assisting EU as a human rights expert in assessing candidate countries. He is often lecturing in human rights law in Denmark or abroad.

Thomas Trier Hansen has been chairman of the Greenlandic Board for supervision of municipalities and the Greenlandic Complaints Board for Public Procurement and is, at present, expert member of the board of Transparency International Greenland and a member of the Danish Refugee Board.

He has extensive experience with programme and project management, strategic planning processes as well as evaluation and assessment of project and programmes. He also has a certificate in board management.
