Ravnene blev jævnligt sluppet fri for at flyve over skibet.
Nordic Law Group ApS has chosen the raven as their logo and symbol as it is a Nordic bird, known for its guidance.
Huginn and Muninn
The alfather of the Norse gods, Odin, was companioned by the two ravens Huginn and Muninn. Huginn represented memory whereas Muninn personified the thought. Each day Odin would send the ravens out into the world and they would return bringing news of events. Odin would then ask his ravens for advise.
The pathfinders: When Norsemen went on long journeys they would bring along ravens. The ravens would regularily be set free and fly high over the ship. If there were no land in sight, they would return to the ship. If the land was far away they would fly very high before they fly towards the land. Did the ravens fly right away, the shore was nearby.
